CORNWALL – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces concluded the regular season in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League on a winning note.
Brydon Smith scored three goals and added two assists, while Brandon Forsythe netted a hat trick, in leading the Aces to a 10-2 triumph over the North River Flames at the APM Centre on Saturday night.
Will Tuplin (2), Ryan Campbell (1-1) and Dawson Sellick also scored for the second-place Aces, who compiled a record of 18-8-2 (won-lost-overtime losses) and have earned a first-round bye. Brayden Handrahan (3), Brady Albert (2), Lexin Gaudet, Matt Bowness, Drake Smallman and Chase McHugh chipped in with assists.
Matt Craig and Kyle Doucette each had a goal and an assist for the fourth-place Flames (11-15-2), who will meet the Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch (11-15-1) in the opening round of the playoffs. Keirsten Steele and Brooke Soloman assisted.
The Aces, who outshot the Flames 49-15, built period leads of 4-1 and 9-2.
Winning goaltender was Andrew Gallant.
