67's top Generals, win four straight

The Ottawa 67’s are just about unstoppable.

The 67’s moved their winning streak to four straight Sunday night with a 5-3 victory over the Oshawa Generals on the road.

It closed out a weekend in which the 67’s won three straight in three days.

Mitch Hoelscher led the attack with two goals while Adam Varga, Alex Belanger and Jack Quinn also chipped in for the 67’s. The OHL’s top-ranked team, the 67’s got 18 stops from goaltender Cedric Andree in the win.

With the scored tied 3-3 heading to the third period, Quinn scored the winner with his 35th of the season at 11:28 while Hoelscher put it away into an empty net. Ty Tullio, Allan McShane and Jacob Winterton replied for the Generals.

Hoelscher and Quinn had a big weekend by combining for 15 points, Along with Marco Rossi, it was Quinn’s fourth game in four days because both participated in the CHL’s top prospects game that was held Thursday night in Hamilton.

The 67’s fired 27 shots on Oshawa goalie Jordan Kooy.

Ottawa is off until they host the Niagara Ice Dogs Saturday in the Saginaw Spirit Sunday for 2 p.m. starts at The Arena at TD Place.
