POWNAL, P.E.I. – Gabe Hartlen scored twice and Owen MacNeil set up three goals to propel the Kings County Kings to a 7-1 victory over the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils Monday in Prince Edward Island Midget AAA Hockey League action.
Jarrett Victor and Jake MacLaren each had a goal and an assist in the win at the Pownal Sports Centre. Ben MacIsaac, Ryan MacDonald and Cam White also scored while Jack King added a helper.
Sam Valois from Cole McKeigan and Sam Parsons replied for Pownal with a power-play goal in the third period.
Ben Bruce earned the win while Logan Birt and Caleb Drake shared time in the Pownal net.
The Kings struck for four goals in the second period to take a 4-0 lead to the third.
Pownal was 1-for-3 on the power play while stopping six of the Kings seven opportunities with the man advantage.
The Kings improved to 3-1-0 while the Red Devils are 1-2-0.
