ALBERTON, P.E.I. — It was a four-point weekend for the Western Regals in the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League.
The Regals defeated the Mid-Isle Matrix 6-4 in Alberton on Saturday night and that game followed up a 6-1 win over the Kings County Kings in Souris on Friday evening.
The Regals are now 4-1-0 (won-lost-tied) atop the five-team league standings.

At the Jacques Cartier Arena, Kalim DesRoches (2-1), Michael McRae (2-1) and Kennedy Gallant (1-2) all had three points to lead the Regals. Ethan Reilly also scored and Chandler DesRoches added two assists.
Reese Wyand (1-1), Angus Beaton (1-1), Callum Pineau and Will Mix replied for the Matrix (2-2-0).
The Regals held period leads of 2-0 and 4-2.
Turner Ellis registered the goaltending win.

At the Eastern Kings Sportsplex, DesRoches (3), McRae (1-4), Carson Wood and Colby Baker found the back of the net for the Alberton-based Regals.
Ryan MacDonald netted the lone tally for Kings County (0-3-0).
The Regals led 2-0 after the first period and extended that margin to 4-0 following 40 minutes.
Winning goaltender was Nylan Hustler.
