The Papa John’s Football P.E.I. tackle leagues semifinals take place this weekend.

The Summerside Spartans and Clippers are set up to take on the Charlottetown Privateers in bantam and varsity action as their team finished fourth at both the bantam and varsity level.

Coach John Turner is looking to win another Hilton Bantam Bowl and the Summerside Clippers are looking to repeat at the Potato Bowl champs.

Victories in both games will give them that chance on Friday, Nov.  4. Game times are 6 and 8 p.m. in Summerside.

The other weekends semifinal action has the Cornwall Timberwolves hosting the Kings County Steelers in bantam action.

The teams have battled all season long for the second and third placing and the Wolves earned that and host the game at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Terry Fox Complex in Cornwall. The Timberwolves have improved a lot over the season and are looking to advance to next Friday’s finals at UPEI.

On Sunday at 2 p.m., the second-place Souris Wildcats are looking to get back to the final of the Potato Bowl. They will host the Varsity Timberwolves of Cornwall.

The Wildcats are looking to regain some supremacy in Island Tackle Football and a win Sunday in Rollo Bay would send them to the final.
