SUMMERSIDE – It's the final regular-season home games for the Summerside Waterwise Spartans and the Cooke Insurance Clippers at Eric Johnston Field on Friday.
The Spartans will face the Kings County Steelers in a Papa John’s P.E.I. Bantam Tackle Football League game at 6 p.m. The Papa John’s P.E.I. Varsity Tackle Football League contest between the Clippers and Souris Wildcats will follow at 8 p.m.
The Spartans, who are 3-2 (won-lost) have clinched second place in the league standings, and will host the Charlottetown Privateers in a semifinal game at Eric Johnston Field on Friday, Oct. 27.
The Spartans are looking to play their best football of the season against the Steelers (0-5) as they prepare for the playoffs.

Clinched berth
The undefeated Clippers (3-0) have clinched first place in the three-team varsity league, and a berth in the Potato Bowl. However, the Clippers want to finish the regular season with a win over the third-place Wildcats (0-3).
Summerside will host the Potato Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 2:30 p.m. The Clippers will take on the winner of next Saturday’s semifinal between the Wildcats and Cornwall Timberwolves.
