The Montreal Alouettes have “agreed to part ways” with head coach Mike Sherman.
“We would have preferred a different turn of events,” general manager Kavis Reed said in statement released by the team, “but we believe that we are making this decision with the best interest of our organization and our team in mind.”
Sherman, who previously served as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers, led the Alouettes a 5-13 record in his sole CFL season.
Offensive coordinator Khari Jones will now also serve as interim head coach, the team announced.
