Rested and mostly healthy after taking a bye week to celebrate a season-opening road win in B.C., the Bombers are a good bet this week against an Eskimo squad with a growing injured list. The Bombers’ offence is a legit threat to beat you two ways and the defence will get to your quarterback with bad intentions. This could be the year they put it all together. Winnipeg by seven.
Montreal (0-1) at Hamilton (2-0)
Friday at 8:30 p.m. AT
The Ticats put up 604 yards of offence and eight TDs in a complete humiliation of Toronto last week, and this game doesn’t look to be much more of a contest. The Als are giving the ball to QB Vernon Adams Jr., who looked sharp in a Week 1 mop up role after Antonio Pipkin got hurt. He has some weapons, but the Ticats are the deepest, most dangerous team in the east. Hamilton by 14.
B.C. (0-2) at Calgary (0-1)
Saturday at 8 p.m. AT
After the Stamps opened with a messy loss to Ottawa at McMahon Stadium, it’s pretty clear 2019 is going to be a challenge for the perennial powerhouse. They lost a ton of personnel to the NFL and free agency, and have injury woes on both sides of the ball. But they’re still in slightly better shape than the Lions, who were manhandled by the Eskimos last week. Calgary by three.
Toronto (0-1) at Saskatchewan (0-2)
Monday at 8 p.m. AT
The Riders have to win a game eventually, and QB Cody Fajardo played well enough to get that victory last week, in his first career start. However, the Riders’ defence couldn’t contain the Redblacks’ Dominant offensive connection, QB Dominique Davis to receiver Dominique Rhymes. The Argos don’t appear to have anything going offensively. So call it Saskatchewan by 10.
