ELMSDALE, P.E.I. - The technical director of the West Prince Storm Soccer Club is pleased with the provincial recognition recently awarded to club members.
Eleven players, including four from its U18 Girls First Division team, have been named P.E.I. Soccer Youth League all-stars for their respective teams.
All-Star team selections is a new recognition program P.E.I. Soccer Youth League introduced this year.
“We may not have a big program, but we have a very competitive program, which is a testament to the kids we have playing for sure,” assessed Brian Allain.
Despite being one of the smallest of the 13 youth soccer clubs in the province, Allain said all of the Storm teams finished at or near the top of their respective league standings.
“I think it’s just nice to see some kids having the ability to get recognized,” he commented.
West Prince club members named U18 Girls all stars are Hayden Chaisson and Janelle Perry, who finished first and second in scoring respectively on both the U18 First Division and Senior Women’s First Division teams, helping both teams to provincial titles; Madison McHugh and goalkeeper Breanna O’Halloran.
U18 Boys all stars from the Storm program are Tristan Cahill and Cole Gallant.
Also capturing all-star honours are Evan LeClair and Rease Robertson, U13 Boys; Harlie Perry and Skyla Jeffery, U13 girls and Ryan Leard, U15 Boys.
