CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Central Attack erupted for seven second period goals to defeat the Eastern Express 9-4 Saturday in a feisty affair at MacLauchlan Arena.

The Prince Edward Island Major Bantam AAA Hockey League teams combined for 129 penalty minutes, including four 10-minute misconducts, in the second period. It also included a fight between Mason Power and Cam Squires.

Five minor penalties were called in the first period and none in the third.

Brennan Murphy had three goals and three assists to lead Central while Squires had three goals and two assists before receiving a game misconduct with 24 seconds left in the middle stanza.

Brett Arsenault had a goal and four assists while Victor Steele and Nathan Mossey each had a goal and an assist. Thatcher Hughes, Jack Rowell and Connor Pierce each contributed a helper in the win.

Jude Campbell scored twice for Eastern while Owen MacPherson and Dawson Sharkey had the other ones. James Wood, Ross Campbell, Caleb MacDonald, Cameron Walsh and Evan Nicholson each had an assist.

Ethan Clark earned the win while Tanton Woodridge took the loss.

Central was 3-for-7 on the power play while Eastern was 0-for-3. Central held 2-1 and 9-3 period leads.

Central snapped a three-game losing streak (all to Eastern) to improve to 9-4-0-0 while Eastern (10-2-0-0) leads the four-team league by two points.

The Express defeated the Attack 6-3 Friday at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex in Souris.

MacDonald had three goals and two assists to lead Eastern while Harry Clements also scored a hat trick and added an assist. Jude Campbell had two assists while Will Landry and Ryan Steadman each picked up one.

Murphy had two goals and an assist for Central while Squires had a goal and an assist. Arsenault had three helpers and Pierce one.

Jackson MacDonald earned the win while Thomas MacAdam took the loss.

The Express held 4-0 and 4-2 period leads. Central was 2-for-9 on the power play while Eastern was 1-for-6.
