SUMMERSIDE – It is expected to be the game of the season on Friday night at Eric Johnston Field.
The Summerside Cooke Insurance Clippers will host the Cornwall Timberwolves in a battle for first place in the P.E.I. Varsity Tackle Football League. The opening kickoff is set for 8 p.m.
The Clippers enter the game undefeated at 5-0 (won-lost), and the Timberwolves bring a 4-1 record into the final regular-season game for both teams.
The Timberwolves’ lone loss came at the hands of the Clippers – a 17-1 decision in Cornwall in the second week of the season on Sept. 21. However, both teams have improved dramatically since September.
Spartans
Also, on Friday, the undefeated Summerside Waterwise Spartans (5-0) will also look to cap an undefeated regular season in the P.E.I. Bantam Tackle Football League as the Cornwall Timberwolves travel to Eric Johnston Field for a 6 p.m. start.
Both teams are looking to improve going into the playoffs, which begin next weekend.
