CORNWALL, P.E.I. — The Robin’s Mid-Isle Matrix used a six-goal second period to defeat the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils 9-4 Thursday in Prince Edward Island Midget AAA Hockey League action.
Carson MacKay had four goals and three assists while Landon Hardy had a hat trick and three helpers and Reese Wyand scored once and helped set up five more. Lucas Buch added a goal and an assist in the home game at the APM Centre in Cornwall while Colin Goodwin had two assists and singles went to Joe MacEachern, Will Mix and Matthew Mills.
Will MacDougall had a hat trick in the loss while Drew McPhee also scored. Cole McKeigan recorded three assists while singles went to Jack Triantafflou and Holden Bradley.
Noah Visser earned the win while Ethan Smith was tagged with the loss.
Mid-Isle went 1-for-2 on the power play while Pownal was 1-for-5. Pownal led 2-1 after the first but went to the third trailing 7-2.
The Matrix (7-2-3) lead the five-team circuit while the Red Devils (5-6-0) are tied with the Sherwood Drug Mart Central Attack (4-4-2) for third place before Friday’s action.
