CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Alex Campbell and Guillaume Boucard’s double-doubles powered the Island Storm to a 125-119 win over the Sudbury Five in National Basketball League of Canada action Thursday in Charlottetown.

Campbell (26 points, 10 rebounds) and Boucard (23 points, game-high 16 rebounds) were joined in double-digit points by Terrell Carter (18), Tyree White (14) and Jonathan Lloyd (11). Off the Storm bench, Robbie Robinson stormed to 10 points and 11 boards, while Malik Story chipped in 17 points.

The win improved the Storm’s record to 9-23 and still within reach of the last playoff spot in the Atlantic Division, now held by the Saint John Riptide.

Sudbury’s Braylon Rayson led all scorers with 27 points. Cory Dixon added 20 points and a team-high 15 boards, while Mamadou Gueye drained 21 points.

The Storm shot 48.5 per cent from the field. Sudbury was slightly less at 45.4 per cent. Neither team bested 70 per cent from the free throw line, shooting 65.5 and 66.7 per cent, respectively.

Next up, the Storm host the Windsor Express on Sunday. Game time is 2 p.m. at Eastlink Centre.
