CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Holland College Hurricanes wrap up first semester play in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) on Sunday in Fredericton, N.B., by taking on the St. Thomas Tommies.

The women tip off at 2 p.m., followed by the men at 4 p.m.

The women enter play with a 3-2 record, good for third place in the ACAA and are ranked 12th nationally.

The Tommies (1-2) sit in fifth place.

Breauna Rivoli-Johnson leads the ‘Canes in scoring at 22.7 points per game. As a team, the ‘Canes are second in the conference in scoring at 79.8 per game.

On the men’s side, the ‘Canes look to rebound after a loss to Crandall last weekend, which dropped Holland College to 5-1 and into second in the conference.

The Hurricanes enter the weekend ranked sixth nationally, while St. Thomas (2-2) is tied for fifth.

Jace Colley (17.5 points per game) and Marcus Dawkins (17.3) lead the high-scoring ‘Canes. As a team, Holland College is atop the conference with an average of 110.7 points per game and have scored at least 100 points in its last five games.

This is the first time the men’s and women’s Hurricanes have faced the Tommies this year.

The season resumes Saturday, Jan. 6.
