It’s not just the cats and dogs getting the boot from China’s menus during the coronavirus pandemic.

Rats, too, are officially on the do-not-eat list.

For 100 years, the rodents — specifically bamboo rats which eat the greenery they’re named after — have been considered a delicacy in China, with some even raising and fattening up rats at home.

They are now forbidden food, according to the Daily Mail.

China has been cracking down on all kinds of unique dishes after the consumption of bats and civets sparked the COVID-19 pandemic.
