The Halifax Hurricanes signed guard Tyler Scott for the upcoming 2019-20 NBL Canada season.
Scott played the last two seasons with Island Storm
and averaged 5.1 points per game coming off the bench last year.
The six-foot-three Halifax native was a two-time
CIS All-Canadian while playing with the UPEI Panthers and a standout high school player with the Halifax West Warriors.
“We are pleased to have Tyler, a local product of the Halifax club, high school and Basketball Nova Scotia programs with us for the coming season,” said head coach Mike Leslie in a news release. “He fully represents the pathway that now exists for local hoop kids who can play minor, provincial, high school, Canadian university, and now pro basketball in their own community where they first started playing the game.
“Tyler has had two very good developmental years playing in our league, learning the pro game and further developing his skills. We believe he has the potential to have a very strong breakout season and are excited to have him on our training camp roster for the upcoming season,” said Leslie.
