The series is now tied 1-1 with Game 3 scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Morell. 

The Chevies got out to an early 2-0 lead Sunday with a pair of runs in the first off Bombers starter Josh Coffin. Pat MacDonald tied it with a two-run homer in the second.

Both teams were held scoreless until Matt Bradley singled home a pair of runs in the sixth off Chevy reliever Logan Gallant. Coffin shut the door on the Chevies in the seventh to pick up his first win of the playoffs. 

Bradley was 2-for-4 with two RBI, Mitch Power was 1-for-2 and Pat MacDonald was 1-for-3 with a homerun and two RBI in the win.

Gallant led the Chevies offence, going 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Avery Arsenault was 1-for-2.

Brewers 12 Athletics 2

The Northside Gill Construction Brewers pounded out 11 hits as they pumped The Alley Stratford Athletics 12-2 in five innings in the other semifinal.

Nigel Fisher’s three-run home run in a five-run second inning was a key blast.

Jason MacLean pitched a three-hitter for the win. Mitch Ryan was 2-for-3 with three RBI and Will Jadis was 2-for-4 with four runs to lead the Brewers offence.

Corey Dougay suffered the loss with relief from Steve Collins. Ryne MacIsaac had two hits and Shawn MacDougall had the other for the A’s.

Game 3 of the best-of-five semifinal goes Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Field after initially being scheduled for Sunday in Stratford. The Brewers lead the series 2-0.
