STRATFORD, P.E.I. – The Alley Stratford Athletics swept a doubleheader from the Peakes Bombers Sunday in Kings County Baseball League action.
The A’s won the opener 13-3 in five innings and Game 2 10-5 in what will be a first-round playoff matchup that starts Wednesday in Stratford.
Jonathan Arsenault got the win going the distance in Game 1 while Dillon Doucette suffered the loss with relief from Matt Bradley.
Ryne MacIsaac was 4-for-4 to pace the Athletics offence while Grant Grady was 3-for-4 and Corey Dougay 2-for-4.
Mitch Power, Bradley and Sean Corcoran each had two hits for Peakes.
MacIsaac got the win in relief of starter Grady in the second game while Corcoran suffered the loss with relief from Power.
Shawn MacDougall went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run to lead Stratford offensively while MacIsaac and Grady each had two hits.
Corcoran was 3-for-3 and Doucette, Power and Bradley all contributed a pair of hits in the loss.
