CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Northside Gill Construction Brewers won the second half of a doubleheader Friday 9-4 to earn the split against the P.E.I. Youth Selects in Kings County Baseball League action.

Jed MacEwen hit a bases-clearing double in the top of the third to tie the game 3-3 before the Brewers scored five in the top of the seventh inning, breaking open a 4-4 ball game. MacEwen finished with three hits and four RBI while Pat Young had two hits, including a leadoff double in the top of the seventh to get the Brewer bats going.
Brodie Hughes finished with two hits and two walks, reaching base all four trips to the plate.

Isaac Compton pitched the complete game win. Ben MacDougall suffered the loss in relief of Jack MacKenzie.

Sam MacKenzie with three hits, Duncan Picketts and Nolan Ryan with two each led the Selects at the plate in Game 2.

In Game 1, Nigel Fisher pitched a complete game two-hitter for the Brewers but was on the losing end of a 2-1 Selects win.

Ben Tsai got the win with relief from Tyler Taylor for the Selects.

The Selects scored their two runs in the bottom of the second on a couple of Brewer errors. Jack Mackenzie and Dylan Worth had the hits for the Selects.

Top batters for the Brewers were Nick Ryan with two hits and Jayden MacLean with a double.
