MORELL, P.E.I. – Mitch Ryan had a bases loaded walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning and Jason MacLean pitched a complete game four-hitter with eight strikeouts as the Northside Gill Construction Brewers defeated The Alley Stratford Athletics 1-0 Wednesday in Morell.
The Brewers lead the best-of-seven Kings County Baseball League final 2-0. Game 3 goes Sunday at 2 p.m. in Stratford.
MacLean and A’s pitcher Dan O’Shea battled all game as O’Shea let up just four hits in eight innings before handing the ball over to Corey Dougay.
Peter MacLeod led off the 10th with a walk, an error and another walk loaded the bases for Ryan with no out. Ryan also led the Brewers with two hits. Grant Grady had two hits for the A’s.
