P.E.I. finishes eighth at under-13 baseball nationals

REPENTIGNY, QUE. – Team P.E.I. lost 11-7 to Alberta on Sunday to finish eighth at the Canadian under-13 baseball championship in Repentigny, Que.

Owen Lynch led the Island squad offensively, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Will Morrison had an RBI single in his only at bat. Grayson Laporte, Myles Grant, Chris MacDougall and Colby Huggan pitched for P.E.I.

On Saturday, P.E.I. faced Saskatchewan with the winner finishing first in the pool with the losing team dropping into a tie-breaker. The Island team fell 10-5 and was relegated to fourth in the division.

Will Morrison, Kal White and Declan Campbell all went 2-for-3. Jacob Dunn and Brandon Langley pitched for P.E.I.
