CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Shawn MacDougall delivered the late-game heroics as the Alley Stratford Athletics rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat the Cardigan Clippers 5-4.
MacDougall drove in the winning run with two outs in the last inning of the Kings County Baseball League game. Dominique Ryan and Ryne MacIsaac drove in the other runs in the seventh for the A’s.
Brady Arsenault was the winning pitcher in relief of starter Jonathan Arsenault, who worked five solid innings. Sam Walsh went the distance in taking the loss.
Allister Smith had two hits to also aid the A's attack. The Clippers were led by Carter MacLellan and Ben Doucette, who each had three hits.
