Game 1 saw the Clippers take the lead twice only to watch the Bombers tie the score to force extra innings. However, Cardigan was able to push across two runs in the eighth to win a nail-biter, 6-4.
Derian Johnston was 3-for-5 with two RBI to lead the Clippers while Pierce Conohan went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Quinn Hughes was also 2-for-4.
Colin Myers and Josh Coffin were each 1-for-3 for the Bombers with Myers driving in three runs.
Charles MacLellan picked up the win for the Clippers, scattering three hits in seven innings. Coffin was tagged with the loss.
Trent MacSwain broke open a 1-1 game in the fourth inning with a three-run homer as the Bomber cruised to an 11-1 victory in
Game 2.
The Bombers score seven in the fourth, one in the fifth and two in the sixth in a game called due to the mercy rule.
MacSwain finished the game 2-for-4 with four RBI while Myers was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Luke MacDonald went 2-for-3.
MacLellan was 2-for-3 and Jed Walsh 1-for-2 for Cardigan.
Robbie Phalen scattered four hits through six innings to pick up his second win of the season while Dean Carroll took the loss.
Athletics 6, Expos 1
The Alley Stratford Athletics defeated the Charlottetown Expos 6-1. Steve Collins threw a complete game five-hitter while Peter Macauley took the loss with relief from Tyler Johnston.
Corey Dougay had three hits to lead the Athletics while Adam Smith and Collins each chipped in two.
Ryan Macleod had two hits for the Expos.
