MORELL, P.E.I. – The Northside Gill Construction Brewers are going to the playoffs.

Jordan Stevenson pitched a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts Monday as the Brewers defeated the Cardigan Clippers 1-0 in the final game of the Kings County Baseball League regular season.

The Brewers will meet the top-ranked Morell Chevies in the best-of-five first-round playoff series. Game 1 goes Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Morell.

The Alley Stratford Athletics and the Peakes Tee Bombers meet in the other semifinal with Game 1 going Wednesday in Stratford.

Monday in Morell, Jamie Arsenault led off the bottom of the third inning with a walk for the Brewers. Pinch runner Pat Young stole second and moved to third on a ground out before scoring on a passed ball for the game’s only run.

Charles MacLellan took the loss after pitching a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Clippers.

Peter MacLeod, Nigel fisher and Jason MacLean had the Brewers hits.

Pierce Conohan had both hits for the Clippers.
