We may not all be in favor of all our government does at all its levels. We may complain. Complaints are often justifiable. Today, I have something else to say.

My local MLA cares enough to help find solutions. My provincial departmental minister listens to concerns. My government plows roads so I (a single senior citizen) can continue to work at my career.

My community members pay attention to each other and help each other. There are men out there who restore our power during and after storms.

There's lots of talk about the weather. We may not like the weather. I hope we do appreciate those who help us to live comfortably and safely during bad weather.

My kudos go out to all local departments who keep us going; to the snowplow guys; to my local driveway snowblower guy (you know who you are); to community friends who watch roads and check on one another.

For all the imperfections, our government still helps us live safely and comfortably.

Sunny Gallant,
North Rustico/Cavendish area
