EDITOR:

Surprise! Our prime minister, Justin Dressup, was young and foolish. As a teacher, one may choose to become a walking, talking costume parade to entertain the students. Given the theme, Arabian Nights, changing the colour of his skin was a part of a complete costume. This has become, unfortunately, a political liability. Justin Dressup, never seeing a costume he didn't like, clothed himself, his wife and his kids, in lovely dress, while visiting India. Another political oops. He still may be young and foolish, and probably will demonstrate that again, sometime.

Mr. Scheer has said things that may have turned out to be young and foolish, politically. Mr. Singh probably has been young and foolish but has not been published for it, yet. Mrs. May has been pictured with a Starbucks cup!

Who has not done something that has been, at the time, and/or maybe later, called young and foolish? Some even write letters to the editor. The person who has never messed up has probably lived a very uninteresting life, never having done anything constructive or creative. Young and foolish tries things. Not all of these tries turn out to be OK.

Chose your political favourite by who they are, or seem to be, now. Any of them might in the future suffer from more random acts of foolishness. They might also suffer from random acts of wisdom. That's who we must try to choose when we vote.

Carl Mathis (still young and foolish),

Charlottetown
