STORY CONTINUES BELOW THESE SALTWIRE VIDEOS
I was saddened to learn of Wilbur’s passing. His family, community and protecting Island ways were on the top of his list. He was humble but made his mark. He became an MP, MLA, minister and Speaker of the legislative assembly. These achievements reflected his belief, which he named his memoirs, Never Give Up.
He loved harness racing, because it was important to the Island way of life. I recall how he pushed at our caucus meetings to be sure we supported the industry. He was as fine a man as one will ever meet!
