EDITOR:
Samaritan’s Purse Canada extends our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the generous Prince Edward Island residents who volunteered with us to help Kensington and Summerside residents deal with the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Dorian.
Our month-long deployment wrapped up on Oct. 12 and by that time, we provided physical and emotional aid to 126 residents— many of them seniors with nowhere else to turn for help.
It was a blessing and an honour for Samaritan’s Purse Canada to serve alongside almost 140 volunteers to clean up damaged properties and removing fallen trees and other debris for the Islanders.
We are also thankful to Summerside Community Church for hosting our Disaster Relief Unit tractor-trailer and other vehicles. All that was accomplished in P.E.I. would not have been possible without a generous host.
