Blot on the landscape! The RCMP has recently become involved in The Shed, aka The Kayak Building, in Cardigan. On Monday, June 22 I was visited by an officer who told me there had been a complaint about me yelling at one of the employees of Three Rivers Council who had been storing a ride-on mower in said building.
The “yell” was me saying something about spending all that money — $42,000 — on an eyesore to store a mower. At the same time, another man was urinating in full public view beside the building. The officer confirmed that it had been the CAO of Three Rivers who had made the complaint. I asked what the offence would be, public mischief or something. The RCMP has now confirmed that “the issue has been resolved” — not by me!
This is an abuse of power, to involved the RCMP in such a trivial issue when there was a far greater breech with someone urinating in public! The building is grossly over-priced and inappropriate, design and materials from a local hardware business and built by a contractor based in Saskatchewan. Everyone I speak to wants to know when it will be moved? It’s very disappointing when at my age I have to engage a lawyer to protect my interests. The council, CAO and mayor should begin to consider their options.
There has been no attempt by this council to reach out to the residents and attempt to resolve the situation.
