Is Justin Trudeau trying to emulate the president to the south of us? He would have to go some yet to match the apparent racism of Mr. Trump ... even with Justin’s brownface and blackface and evasive answers on the subject. However, when it comes to seemingly having disregard for the rule of law and capitalism, he is moving along quite nicely. His interference, according to the ethics commissioner, in the SNC-Lavalin prosecution and now his election promise to reduce cell phone bills by 25 per cent, seems to me to be well beyond his role as leader of the country.

Not sure whether he thinks he is a deity or has no real understanding of the rule of law and capitalism. Imagine the concern a small business person might have seeing the promise to reduce cell phone bills by 25 per cent. Is he likely to promise next that gas stations have to reduce their prices by 25 per cent, or taxi rides, etc.? Let’s not try to buy votes. Let’s promise responsible government, Justin!

Jim McDougall,

Charlottetown
