Veterans of all ilk welcome your coverage of our ministers', past and present, visits to gravesites of the oft forgotten conflict in Italy.
Unfortunately, your coverage (“Today and 45 years ago”in Monday's Guardian on page A5) contained a major error.
Canadian corps did not remain in Italy until May of 1945. Via operation “Goldflake,” all Canadian troops in Italy moved to the Western front in February/March of 1945.
