Re: Gail Lethbridge's Nov. 2 column, "The air's seeping out of stadium ball." An outdoor stadium is a must for Halifax. The media needs to stop always focusing only on negative feedback. It is killing the progress of the province.

This proposal is for a sports stadium in HRM, not a football stadium per se. It would be for concerts, different sports, and would help attract major events to Halifax.

Halifax is the only city in Canada with a population in the 500,000 range that does not have a large-capacity sports stadium. Even Moncton and St. John's have one. We cannot even bid on any major concert, sports event, outdoor show or even a visit from the Pope because we are not equipped. We want to attract and retain youth and immigrants, but we will not provide the needed recreational facilities that would help us do just that. It's pathetic, actually. No vision for the future. Furthermore, always having the media seek the negative and look backwards influences public opinion. That is nothing but biased reporting.
