EDITOR:
I have two issues on my mind. May is motorcycle safety awareness month. Time to slow down and pay attention to what’ s going on around you. Everyone seems to be in such a hurry these days. They can’t seem to stop at STOP signs or take that extra glance to check for a bike. Someone’s whole world is riding that bike. Please don’t make another family live with the devastating loss we have. Check twice, save a life. My second is Local 721 plumbers and pipefitters strike. All they’re looking for is a living wage. These workers have mortgages, children to feed, clothe, daycare, fuel to get to work (not cheap) and all the other bills related to existing. Why do these men and women have to fight for an honest day’s pay? It certainly isn’t right when the corporations are living very well, and these workers are struggling to make ends meet. I really hope they’ll soon be given a fair deal. They deserve it!
