Holy moley, what a surprise to read May 22 that the gasoline increased so much, 5.8 cents. Don't you think it’s a bit too high? With the barrel at $34.13 on May 21 and the next morning at close to $31.
In my mind and the mind of a lot of people, at the pump it should be at most $0.25 for a litre. Is our federal government is too hungry because of the money they give now so they made people pay for that, again?
I remember in the 1970s, gasoline was selling $ 0.57 for a gallon, yes a gallon. And when the Mulroney government was there, they changed that in litres and said to us that it will cost less.
Sure, a litre and a gallon are not the same but in people’s mind it was, “Wow! $0.27 a litre instead of $0.57! for a gallon, it’s a big drop.” Now I imagine those people said too high, it should drop more instead of increasing.
Big difference today is isn’t it?
