We just wanted to continue to express our gratitude and love for allowing the Atlantic travel bubble.

My fiancé and I have lived in Halifax for the last five years (he was previously working in Alberta) we come home to P.E.I. every second weekend as he has a nine-year-old daughter who resides on the Island. All of our family is also on the Island. It was 21 weeks before we saw our family this weekend, 21 weeks without your child, your mother, your family.

This weekend was nothing short of magical. I promise we did everything required and followed guidelines. We couldn’t be more grateful to return in two weeks. Our friends, families and fellow Islanders were all so welcoming and happy. We did run into one altercation with an Islander on our way out of town who saw our N.S. plates, but I’m not letting the ugliest voices be the loudest.

I can’t thank you enough for reuniting us with our families.

I can’t say it enough, a drive we do every second weekend, that is just routine and so simple was taken away from us. We are so happy to be able to see the ones we loved most, while following all the rules. I’m writing this with tears, that the people who can’t see how important this is causing a such a scene that may cause us to not see our family in the two weeks like we planned.

Thank you for your time.

Kristin Dominey and Barry Banks,
Halifax
