EDITOR:
Blair Corkum should read the October 2018 edition of Employment Journey. The problem regarding labour is Atlantic Canada
not paying wages on par with central Canada or United States. Mr. Corkum is right about high taxes. The problem is
businesses have to force the province to reduce the size of government. P.E.I.'s third largest expenditure is debt.
P.E.I. downsizing government will see a decrease in our economy. We need young people to stay on P.E.I. if businesses on P.E.I. aren't willing to pay competitive wages with central Canada or U.S.A. then businesses don't have the right to complain about the ongoing shortage of labour.
