EDITOR:

My husband and I attended our first senior's Christmas social at Murphy's Centre. It was a much larger event than I anticipated. Tables and chairs were set up in the gym. We were served plates of sandwiches and sweets, tea and coffee. There were even door prizes. Santa appeared with his candy canes.

Phase II and Kendall Docherty provided the beautiful Christmas music. Charlottetown Mayor Philip Brown and city council members were in attendance. They treated the seniors to Ferrero Rocher chocolates.

Groups of seniors were picked up by buses. There was lots of excitement and chatter as old and new friends met.

Special thanks to City of Charlottetown and the organizers of this senior's Christmas event. I am sure there are many seniors who look forward to this event every year as it is an opportunity to socialize and enjoy some of the Christmas music. Plan to put this event in your calendar next year.

Marlene Bryenton,

Charlottetown
