When people are single and can't work, their rent ceiling is $539. Why have other items have gone up but never the rent ceilings?
I know people are in bad situations and have to rent from slum landlords, just because they are on social assistance. When is government going to listen?
The average rent is $650-$700 heated. Then $55 hydro and tenant insurance $15.75. This is all added together as your monthly entitlement. The insurance is not an expense to be reimbursed, so workers take it off as an expense, but shouldn't.
When a person is on social assistance, figure out what is left after you pay out part of your food money for rent. Then divide that by 31 days, then divide by seven. How much is left?
