EDITOR:

I saw some advertising for the Vesey's Giant Pumpkin event. We are always looking for fun activities to do with our grandchild last Saturday. We drove to York not knowing what things they had to entertain children.

To our amazement there were lots of things to check out such as crazy hat, pumpkin ring toss, colouring, hopscotch, spider and web, scrubby in pumpkin mouth, bales of hay with characters, bales of hay to jump on, pumpkin-themed head-in-hole picture spot and scarecrows galore.

grandchild even got to decorate her own little pumpkin which she brought home proudly to show mommy and daddy. To top it all off there was a long wagon ride with bales of hay to sit on.

We checked out the very large pumpkins and of course took photos. There is not much you can get for free these days.

This was a very well-run event and took lots of organization. There were even people to help park cars in the busy parking lot.

Where can you go for a morning or afternoon of entertainment for free and have a barrel of fun? The answer is Vesey's pumpkin event. This was our first adventure to Vesey's but will definitely not be our last. Thank you, Vesey's for a fun-filled time that even Grammie and Poppy enjoyed. See you next year.
