EDITOR:

Louie was the beautiful companion dog that was attacked by two pitbull mix dogs and had to be euthanized as a result of his injuries. After an investigation by the RCMP and the Humane Society, the Guardian reported that the pitbull-type dogs would be given a second chance.

I ask you where was Louie's second chance? He didn't even have a chance to try and get away from them as he was tied up in his own yard as these dogs came onto his property and viciously attacked him. One of the listed requirements the owner must follow states these dogs must wear a muzzle when out and about; well what if they get out accidentally or get free of the muzzle, will it be another dog they attack or a toddler/child or person.

The old saying goes, if they attack once they will attack again. There is something very wrong with this picture and it should be made right.
