If a person is mature enough to join the Armed Forces, which they can do at age 18, then they should be mature enough to smoke marijuana or smoke cigarettes.

Is it fair for the government to ask a young person at age 18 to put their life on the line for their country, but they’re not mature enough to smoke?
I’m not pushing for smoking, or saying not to smoke. But I’d like to know why there is a double standard.
The government also encourages people not to smoke cigarettes because it causes cancer, but they’re spending all this money to sell marijuana. I haven’t heard if marijuana causes cancer. Maybe that will be next.
