The Confederation Bridge closes approximately up to two hours to haul a mobile home across and this can happen once or more a week, even in the busy season. Can we not build the same quality of product here in Prince Edward Island? How much is added to the cost by building it in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick and hauling it across the bridge and then hauling it to any location in P.E.I., possibly Down East? How much does the bridge charge to give this special service to the builder? The cost to truckers who are being tied up with their loads coming in or going out of the province should be factored in. If the bridge plays favourite to the mobile home builders, our important tourist traffic would be affected. In Borden-Carleton, the toll would be taken and then the traveller is told to just get in the line and wait, which could be up to one to two hours. Our provincial government should be concerned and the agency that could take some action on this could be the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (IRAC).
