EDITOR:
There’s a small number of drivers that terrorize cyclists. We need a solution. The advantages of cycling are too important. Cycling cannot be restricted to people that are willing to share the road with a few psychopaths. We either need better rules, education and enforcement, or we need to pay for protected bike lanes.
I’d like safe roads everywhere, but is it realistic to actually stop careless and aggressive driving? Yes, it is. To start, if you see one of the handful of people that make cycling terrifying, please give them a hug and convince them to stop. They are not entitled to bike-free roads. They are wasting our tax dollars and threatening our lives.
