Laurie George DALZIEL

Laurie George Dalziel
DALZIEL, Laurie George It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of our dad Laurie George Dalziel at the age of 78. Laurie passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, April 9th, 2021 with his daughter Dawn by his side. Born in Charlottetown, Laurie was one of 6 children to Bonar & Josie Dalziel. Laurie is survived by his son David (Barb) Dalziel of Grande Prairie AB, daughter Dawn (Ron) Arnett as well as his grandchildren Meghan, Lauren & Nathan the bright lights in his life. Brother Allan (Verna Lee) Dalziel, sister Sally Ross (Gordie, Deceased), Dianne (David) Bradley, Carol (Ronnie) Carmichael all of Charlottetown PE, sister-In-Law Heather Ann (Jack) Aucoin of Kamloops BC and numerous nieces and nephews. Laurie was predeceased by his wife Sharon (Jones), parents Bonar & Josie Dalziel, sister Janet Raymond, brothers-in-laws Jim Jones, Gordie Ross, Bob Jewel and sister-in-law Margo Jewel. Laurie lived in Charlottetown until he was 18 and decided to make the big move to Ottawa, ON. There Laurie met and was happily married for over 50 years to his best friend Sharon, until her passing in October, 2019. In 1977 Laurie & Sharon packed up David & Dawn and their 2 dogs Misty & Julie into a bread van to make the long trek from Ottawa to Kamloops, BC where Sharon’s Mother Peg and brother Jimmy lived. For over 40 years Laurie and Sharon lived and raised their family in Kamloops. Towards the end of 2020 it was decided that it was time for Laurie to go home to Charlottetown. The hope was for Laurie to spend time with his family and of course enjoy the Lobster, mussels & oysters. On February 1st, 2021 the dream became a reality but unfortunately time was not on his side. 2 months to the day Laurie arrived in Charlottetown he was admitted to the QEH with heart complications. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at Andrews of Charlottetown and the nurses and doctors at the QEH for their care. We would especially like to thank Constant care aide Sandra who went out of her way to take care of dad when he really got sick. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
