NELSON, Shelley Heaven has gained a special angel Shelley Lynn Nelson passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge, Belfast, PE with family by her side. Shelley was predeceased by her parents Allan (Bardy) and Joyce Nelson. She is survived by her brothers Donald (Erin), George (Heather), Jeff (Dawn) and sister Susan; nieces Crystal (Neil) Jackson, MacKenzie (Reed) Allen, Emily & Erin Nelson; nephews Darren (Becky) Nelson, Darcy (Zia) Nelson, Travis (Colleen) Turner, Denver & Cale Nelson; Grandniece and grandnephew Rhiver & Boh Nelson. Besides her parents, Shelley is predeceased by a sister-in-law Sharon Nelson. Shelley lived a full life at home with her family and with her friends at Montague Group Home. She enjoyed the many parades, ceilidhs, camping, festivals and road trips while living at the group home. She worked at Kingswood Centre for many years. The last 10 years she was a resident of Gillis Lodge where she won many bingo games and helped at canteens and other activities. Shelley was involved with Special Olympics and was the recipient of many medals for her skill in bowling. Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral service to take place Thursday, February. 27th at 11:00 am, in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Inclusion’s East Center or Inclusion’s East Residential Services would be greatly appreciated.
