Rose Marie Quinn (Ormond)

Rose Marie Quinn (Ormond)
The population of heaven increased by one on Sunday, May 19, 2019. Rose Marie Quinn (Ormond) passed peacefully from this world to join so many loved ones who have gone before her. Marie’s loving husband, Joe, and her big brothers, Merlin and Bill, were at the gates of heaven to greet her. Remaining behind to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her children, Ed, Cecilia (Martijn), Mary and Joe (Sandra), to whom she dedicated so much of herself; her grandchildren, Claire, Rory, Jack, Lily, Colin, Keely and Hannah, who were the lights of her life; and her siblings Gene (Elayne), Irene (Howard dec., Bill), Richi (Arnie dec.), Bill dec. (Pat), Merlin dec. (Edna) and Evelyn (Edwin dec.), who were her lifelong friends, and her sisters-in-law, Louise and Dorothy. Mom also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews and friends, especially the coffee club and her friends from the Island, who all held a special place in her heart. Mom made her family the centre of her universe. She will forever be remembered as a selfless, kind-hearted, faith-filled and giving person, to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Please join us in celebrating her wonderful life. Visitation will take place at PX Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Avenue, Hamilton, Ontario from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019. Prayers and Eulogy will take place at 8:00. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, 50 Brucedale Avenue East, Hamilton, Ontario at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019, immediately followed by burial at Resurrection cemetery, 254 Garner Road, Ancaster, Ontario. In lieu of floral tributes, donations can be made to the Good Shepherd Hamilton, where Marie volunteered for many years. Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Peter’s Long-Term Care for the daily compassion and care that Marie received. And to our Mom and Nana: You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You’ll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away.
