MCCARTNEY, Michael "Mike" Michael “Mike” McCartney, of Tignish Prince Edward Island, passed away peacefully on Monday June 29, 2020, at Western Hospital, in nearby Alberton, with his wife, Mary Kinch the one he laughed with, lived for – at his bedside following an extended hospital stay. Mike was born on July 15, 1936, to Arthur and Marjory (Douglas) McCartney, in Goderich, Ontario but spent his formative years in Ajax, Ontario. Mike is survived by his best friend and love of his life, Mary Kinch, his children Michael McCartney, Ron McCartney, Oshawa, On, Elizabeth (Don) Duhan of Corpus Christi, Texas, his grandson Dakota McCartney, Oshawa, On., siblings Donna Anderchuk, Bill (Barb) McCartney, Ajax, On., Jim McCartney, Oshawa, On., brother-in-law John Ford, Ajax, On., the Kinch Family, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Robert (Bud) McCartney, sisters Judith (Judy) Ford and Dorothy (Betty) Smith, sister-in-law Mary, brothers-in-law Russ Smith and Pete Anderchuk. Our family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Western Hospital. Their dedication and effort to provide quality and compassionate care over the last months were a heartwarming blessing to our entire family.
