JENKINS, Harold Melvin Peacefully at the Souris Hospital on Monday, July 20, 2020 of Mel Jenkins of Charlottetown, age 92 years. Beloved husband of the late Lorna (Chandler) Jenkins and dear father of Philip (Connie). Grampy of Abigail, Alexandra, and Gillian Jenkins. Survived by sister Dalphene Toombs, sister-in-law Sylvia Cox, as well as nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Katherine (Buell) Jenkins, sister Shirley MacDonald, brother Morris Jenkins, brothers-in-law Hillard Toombs, Blair MacDonald, Peter Cox, and nephew Andrew Cox. Mel was the last of the founding directors of the Gold Cup and Saucer Race and enjoyed his long association with harness racing and the Charlottetown Driving Park. The family extends a sincere thank you to Dr. Craig Malone and the exceptional nursing team at Souris Hospital, who looked after Mel with great care and compassion. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. A family graveside service will be held in Peoples Cemetery on Saturday.
