Marjorie Genevieve Doucette

On Friday, July 19, 2019, Marjorie Doucette, loving mother of two children and six grandchildren, passed away peacefully, at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, Charlottetown, at the age of 88. Marjorie was born on September 7, 1930, in North Rustico, P.E.I., to Frederick and Marion Gallant. She taught elementary school in North Rustico for 34 years. She raised one daughter, Anne, and one son, Roger, as well as providing endless love and support to her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and most of all, to her grandchildren. Marjorie was passionate about her teaching career. She loved reading, watching the boats come in to the North Rustico Harbor at the end of the day, and a good cup of tea. She liked long talks, good jokes and being surrounded by her family and friends. Her home was open to anyone in need, at any time. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Kirk (Larry), and son, Roger Doucette (Tami); six grandchildren, Jessica, Andrew, Tyrell, Keltie, Telsyn and Connor; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce LeClair, Noreen Down and Janet Gallant; and brothers, Walter, Paul and Merlin. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Marion; brothers, Bert and Charlie; and sisters, Ida, Marina and Judy; and an infant son. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Monday, July 22, 2019, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Stella Maris Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, or Rosewood Residence would be appreciated.
