Lucretia Hughes
HUGHES, Lucretia Peacefully at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, on Sunday, July 05, 2020, surrounded by family, Lucretia (Kish) Mary Hughes (nee Lavandier) of Morell, aged 71, left behind her three-month battle with cancer for a better life promised by her faith. Left to mourn this wonderful lady are her husband of 46 years, Bob; their daughters Krista (Stephen) MacKinnon, and Kara Hughes; Nanny’s sweet granddaughters Abigail and Jaynie MacKinnon; and sadly missed by her family, Lewis (Claranne) Lavandier, Leona Haywood, Frank (Judy) Lavandier, Cathy Williams, and Lisa (Mark) King; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by members of the Hughes family. Lucretia was predeceased by her parents Frank and Fran (nee Murphy) Lavandier; and brothers-in-law Ben Haywood, John (Jack) Hughes, and Wade Williams. Special thanks to Dr. Lecours, Dr. Baker, and the staff and volunteers of the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, as well as Dr. Fleming, Dr. Shea, and nurses and staff from Unit 2 at the QEH, Charlottetown, for their care of Lucretia in her final days. Lucretia’s remains will rest in the lounge of St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a private family viewing will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the church on Thursday, July 9, 2020, with Fr. Brian MacDougall presiding for family and close friends only.
